How Solar Panels Work
Generate clean, renewable energy from the sun shining on your home. It’s easier than ever to install a solar photovoltaic (PV) system and reduce your electricity costs.
HARNESS THE ENERGY OF THE SUN
Every day, light hits your roof’s solar panels with photons (particles of light).
GENERATE YOU OWN ELECTRICITY
The PV panel converts those photons into electrons and Direct Current (DC) electricity is generated.
YOU'RE ON THE GRID
The inverter converts the DC power into Alternating Current (AC) and is synced with the utility grid so that you can use it in your home.
USE YOUR POWER
The inverter is tied into your home's electrical system and the power you generate gets recorded by a bi-directional or “net” meter. Energy generated will offset what you would have normally used from the utility.
YOUR POWER, WHEN YOU NEED IT
The excess energy generated will be counted as credits. For example, at night, when your system is not producing power, your home uses the accumulated energy credits, rather than purchasing power from the utility.
HOW TO FINANCE
We will help you understand all of your options so you can make the decision that is best for you.
Going Solar is a wise investment that will bring you returns for years to come. Our customers save an average of 20% or more on their electric bills. As your trusted advisors, we will guide you through the finance options to help you make an informed decision based on what works best for you and your home.
Direct ownership of your solar system does have some powerful advantages. You will be eligible for a 30% Federal Tax Credit at the end of the year along with state incentives that save our customers roughly 1/3 of the cost of their total system! We will help you navigate through all incentives available to you as a cash buyer and make sure you are taking advantage of the most beneficial ones for your situation.
Whether you’re financing just a solar system using the Sungage Loan or bundling your solar installation with another high efficiency upgrade using the Smart-E loan, we will make sure you are selecting the loan option that works best for you.
Leasing your system can be a feasible option using our traditional lease program or a Power Purchase Agreement. Depending on what your goals are, both of these options require no upfront cost at all! A traditional lease will guarantee a fixed monthly payment while a Power Purchase Agreement allows you to only pay for the electricity you use from the producing system. Let us help you decide which makes the most sense for you.

Here is a look at our process:
Free Site Evaluation
An ENCON Solar Specialist meets with you at your home to discuss your expectations and needs. They will also take a look at several things while they are there; including orientation, roof pitch, shading, main breaker panel and your electric bills.
Review Your Options
The same specialist that you met with for the site evaluation will sit down with you and review what your options are. We will show you a preliminary layout of your solar array as well as a financial summary of how your solar system will benefit you and your family.
This is a great time to have a list of any questions, concerns, or reservations about solar ready.
Once all of your questions are answered and you’re ready to move forward, you will be presented with a contract for your review and signature. Aside from a couple more signatures, ENCON’s team will prepare and submit all documents for permits, interconnection with the utility and state rebates on your behalf.
After we have acquired all necessary permits and materials have been delivered we can begin the installation. Most residential systems can be installed in a week or less. Our team of installers is courteous and takes pride in keeping a neat and clean appearance and work area.
Once the system is installed, we will take you through the system. We will show you what each part is and what its function is. We will show you the shut-down and start-up procedures in the event that the system needs to be turned off for any reason. In case you forget, don’t worry, we will leave you with a complete operations manual to refer to.
The final inspections will occur. Once we get the final Utility approval we can turn the system on and you can start generating your own energy!
