What We Do For You
Live Green CT and ENCON will conduct community outreach and home assessments focused on two key initiatives:
Home Energy Solutions℠ – Income Eligible:
No-cost in-home energy assessments for income-qualified customers residing in single family or 2-4 unit multifamily buildings. Our approved partnership contractor, New England Smart Energy, an Energize CT approved contractor, will identify opportunities to save energy and install on-the-spot improvements such as air sealing, duct sealing (if applicable), along with low-flow showerheads and faucet aerators, so you can start saving right away.Heat Pump Installations:
Helping homeowners and landlords upgrade to electric heat pumps for efficient heating, cooling, and dehumidification all in one unit. Heat pumps provide year-round comfort while reducing energy use and carbon emissions.

What Is A Heat Pump
An electric heat pump uses electricity to move heat from one place to another. In the summer, it acts like an air conditioner by moving indoor heat outside. In the winter, it reverses this process, extracting ambient heat from the outdoor air and bringing it inside to warm your home.
The heat pump system consists of three primary components: an outdoor unit, an indoor unit, and refrigerant.
Heating Mode: In winter, the outdoor unit extracts ambient heat from the outside air. The refrigerant absorbs this heat and transforms into a gas. A compressor then pressurizes the gas, raising its temperature significantly. This hot gas flows to the indoor unit, releasing its heat into your home's air, which is then circulated by a fan.
Cooling Mode: In summer, the process reverses. The indoor unit removes heat from your home's air and transfers it to the outdoor unit, which releases it outside, effectively functioning as an air conditioner.
