In those early days, every plan was drawn by hand, and I spent many Saturdays helping out with field work. Seeing designs that come to life on the job site taught me more than any classroom. When computer-aided design came along, I helped lead ENCON’s move towards the future and brought AutoCAD into the company. I learned that the best way to grow is to roll up your sleeves, stay curious, and be willing to change how things have always been done.

From the drafting table, I moved into project management, then sales, and eventually leadership, most recently as Executive Vice President. Each role showed me a different part of the business and the people who make it work. Along the way, I’ve watched ENCON grow from fewer than 40 employees to more than 350, serving homes and businesses across Connecticut and New York.

The most valuable skill I’ve developed here is listening. Good decisions come from making sure every voice is heard, especially the voices of the people closest to the work. When challenges come up, I stay calm, look at how good leaders before me handled similar moments, and move forward with a clear head.

Stepping into the role of President is an honor and a responsibility I take seriously. My advice to anyone starting out in this industry is the same advice I’d give my 18-year-old self: stay committed, outwork the competition, and never stop learning. That’s the ENCON way, and it’s how we’ll keep earning our customers’ trust for decades to come.
